A quick look at some of my past posts will tell you I am a bookworm and a lover of good quotes. So it isn’t any big surprise that I collect quotes from my favorite books. February is Library Lovers Month. Seeing that it is only a few days until February (how did that happen, it was just Christmas!), I am sharing some classic quotes from my favorite books with you.
I did a lot of research on these quotes before publishing. It seems that many of the quotes floating around on the internet are mislabeled or misidentified (what? the internet isn’t always true???). That is why I haven’t included a Winnie the Pooh quote (my favorites aren’t from the books apparently). And one of my favorite C,S, Lewis quotes was never his to begin with. It’s always a good idea to verify things before you post them as fact.
You can also check out my book and film quote collection on Pinterest. Please share far and wide. There is a quote here for everyone.
Quotes from Children’s Literature
Let’s face it. Kid’s literature has some of the most quotable passages around. Maybe it’s just my level of maturity, but I love reading juvenile fiction. Think about the books from your childhood: Dr. Seuss and his wonderful, rhyming advice. J.K. Rowling and her ultimate teacher, Dumbledore, C.S. Lewis and his tales from Narnia. We can learn a lot about life, friendship, facing challenges, and overcoming obstacles from the pages of children’s stories.

Quotes from Classics Old and New
My adult reading habits are all over the place. I love Jane Austen’s stories for their humor and romance. Science fiction and fantasy take me to worlds very different, but, in some ways, similar to our own. I really enjoy reading historical fiction, and memoirs and non-fiction are often among my favorites as well. And no matter what the setting, the genre, or the age of the story, I find useful teachings and insights like the ones below.
